Two “Night Owls“ from Sharky’s Club in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Just a minute, it’s only midday, and the blessed times of Svay Pak, also named K 11 (because it lies eleven kilometres away from Phnom Penh, or should one now better use the past tense…) are no longer. In earlier days one arrived at Phnom Penh, took a quick shower, grabbed a beer out of the fridge, and subsequently the very first trip one made was down to Svay Pak. Unfortunately some sick bastards got up to no good, which ended up with the police shutting the wonderful destination of Vietnamese whoring down. I even know of people who have tears in their eyes when talking about the place or when looking at old photos (see “Grubert in Cambodia). Yes, the good old days have passed by and are never to return again, they have just gone forever, unfortunately.

So, what is there to do at this time of day? The clubs don’t open until about five or six o’clock in the evening. I went off down to a massage parlour! Rows of girls are sat down on a sofa, some behind panes of glass in the “aquarium” as one knows from visits to Thailand. An hours massage costs about four to six bucks, so off I go to the room. What happens there is discussed under four eyes, the price for the services also. After a bit of haggling, one manages to get the girls down to a more or less reasonable price, the price should in general lie at around 20 dollars. Yes, that is a little expensive, in K11 for the same price one got a good-looking talented and willing girl for the whole night. However, it can be worth it here as well…
